New CLiC Web Site!

Summer is here and with it, a new web site for CLiC! We have used our mission and goals to style our web site with the categories being the key functions of CLiC — Resource Sharing, Continuing Education, Cooperative Purchases, and the Library Community. Please browse the new site and let us know what you think (and if you find any errors).

We hope our web site will be an effective communication & resource tool for the library community in Colorado!

Thanks to the Quipu Group for creating this new web site for CLiC.

CLiC/SEALS Workshop

On April 27 – 28, CLiC and SEALS are holding a two-day conference in Canon City. It’s quite the event with over 20 sessions offered over the course of two days. Beth Filar Williams and Shelley Walchak from CLiC will be presenting on Facilitating, or “How to Run a Meeting”. Shelley will also do a session on “Social Software”. Please go to the CLiC website and link under Spring Workshops to Canon City for the registration form, a link to the sessions, and a dinner menu on Thursday when Jamie LaRue is speaking on Intellectual Freedom.

March Update on CLiC

Over the last 3 months, CLiC has held 10 school library workshops and 7 spring workshops running concurrently. Special thanks to Jody Howard and Nancy Bolt for the great training they provided at our school workshops. There’s still time to sign up for spring workshops including Woodland Park on april 7th, Gunnison on April 21, Durango on May 2 , Summit County on May 5th, and Canon City on April 27-28, jointly sponsored with SEALS (Southeast Area Librarians).

In Canon City, there will be several tracks on both days including technology, trustee training, school libraries, public libraries, customer service, institutional libraries and facilitation training. Come and listen to speakers Gene Hainer, Jamie LaRue, and Donna Jones Morris and enjoy the great food and atmosphere at the Canon City Abbey.

Registration information for all workshops is available at http://www.clicweb.org/spring/index.htm

In addition to the trainings mentioned above, CLiC is offering trustee training with a choice of consultants and subsidies ranging from 50 to 75% of the cost. Please contact the CLiC office (303) 422-1150, or one of the consultants to get more information on trustee training.
