If you haven’t worked with colleagues on a wiki yet, you would be surprised at how easy and powerful a tool it is. At CLiC we experimented with lots of the “freebies” including Writely (now bought by Google and no longer free.) There are still lots of free wikis available and one of the most touted ones is PB Wiki, which you can find at http://pbwiki.com/. It describes itself as: “A PBWiki is an easy-to-use webpage that multiple people can edit. It’s as easy to make as a peanut butter sandwich!”
ALA has launched the Read Write Connect wiki as a one-stop-shop for all things 2.0 from ALA, divisions, roundtables, and offices. On the wiki you’ll find links to various ALA sponsored blogs, wikis, Flickr accounts, MySpace and FaceBook pages, and more.
Check it out at: http://wikis.ala.org/readwriteconnect
If all this is as clear as mud, come to one of the CLiC workshops and attend one of the techie sessions. Remember, there are scholarships available for all the workshops on the CLiC website: www.clicweb.org
Workshop Dates:
Greeley – March 15 – 16
Grand Junction – March 22 – 23
Pueblo – April 19 – 20
CLiC is offering ten (10) individuals (at each location) a chance to earn $100 to help defray expenses by assisting us at our spring workshops. Selection will be based on a random drawing about 3-4 weeks before each workshop event. At the workshop location of your choice, you will act as the “liaison” for four (4)workshop sessions, hopefully most of your choosing! Your job is to be there in case of problems so you can help or find CLiC staff to assist, introduce the presenter, and write up a evaluative summary paragraph of the session, you attend. Once you are notified of selection, we will allow you to sign up, first come first serve, for the sessions of your choice to attend as liaison while at the CLiC spring workshop.
To apply for this complete the following two tasks: (1) Fill out this application form online. (2) Then, post a comment by clicking on the word comments under this blog entry.

They will be posting comments here on the impact attending the conference had on them and how they will use what they learned.
Thanks CAL for another year of a wonderful state conference!
CLiC has added a second online tutorial for your training needs. The Courier 101 tutorial provides an overview of the Colorado Courier Service and explains in detail how to prepare materials for handling by the courier. Some libraries are including this tutorial as part of their training program for new employees. You can either watch the tutorial online: www.clicweb.org/continuing_education/tutorials/courier101main
or contact the CLiC office to receive a CD version to keep on hand at your librar. Certificates of completion are available to all Colorado library staff who successfully pass the quiz.
Tell us how this tutorial has helped you do your job better or how its changed an attitude toward the courier. What tidbits of wisdom did you gain from the tutorial?
