History Reference Center features full text for more than 1,990 reference books, encyclopedias and non-fiction books, historical documents, biographies of historical figures, historical photos and maps, and more than 80 hours of historical video. This training session will guide you through the features and functionalities of the History Reference Center which is a vital resources designed for 9-12 grades.

Colorado Department of Education Offering E-rate Training

 The Colorado Department of Education is pleased to offer beginner and advanced E-rate training sessions for the 2013-14 E-rate funding year.  Training is available for all E-rate applicants and service providers.

As in previous years, CDE will conduct a Beginners and Advanced training session.  The Beginning training session is designed to introduce new applicants to the E-rate process. This training will go over the history of E-rate, application process, and form completion. Applicants are encouraged to bring forms completed in previous years and documentation to complete the form 470 application.

The Advanced session will cover topics that are suggested by attendees in addition to eligible services, contracts, funding issues, appeals and CIPA. If there is a specific topic of interest, be sure to add that topic when completing the registration form.

Announcing new service: Lynx

By now, many Colorado libraries are taking advantage of a new package of EBSCO databases. The package contains a diverse range of electronic resources (including full-text and multimedia assets) to suit school, public library and academic library needs.
This new package represents a good value for libraries. But databases alone are insufficient. This is why the State Library and the Colorado Library Consortium (CLiC) are pleased to formally announce a new joint SERVICE named Lynx. Continue reading ‘Announcing new service: Lynx’

2012-13 Colorado School Library Survey Now Open

Letters have been sent to public school libraries throughout the state announcing the opening of the 2012-13 Colorado School Library Survey. It can be accessed at The data gathered in the annual school library survey provides library professionals with important information for planning, evaluating, and budgeting. In addition, the survey’s results serve as the basis for studies that demonstrate the impact of school libraries on student achievement.

ILEAD USA Colorado Applications Now Available!

Applications for ILEAD USA Colorado are now available. The Colorado State Library invites all interested library staff (no MLIS required) to apply to be an iLeader on a 5 person team, a mentor, or an instructor for this unique and innovative leadership and technology program.
