Summer Reading at Carbon Valley – the “Reading 500”

The Carbon Valley Regional Library (High Plains Library District) in Firestone did a “Reading 500” activity this summer. Jan Cruz explains, “Each car represents a book that a Summer Reading participant read. The cars have the title of the book, author and first name of the person who read the book.” Kristi Madron (from the Centennial Park Library, also in High Plains), says this was “A fun idea in how to encourage a community to read and participate at the library.” Summer readers exceeded expectations and this turned into the “Reading 617”! See below for the video.
