The Park Vista Hotel hosted over 340 librarians at the Rural & Small Library Conference in Gatlinburg Tennessee. The Smoky Mountain were a sight to behold, and the weather couldn’t have been better. The snakes I could have done without though! It was a real treat to see the rural Anna Porter Public Library implement a book store type model library in their small town of 3,500 people. Mark your calendar for Next year’s conference. It is going to right in your backyard (Denver!) on October 14-16th 2010. Gatlinburg will be hard to beat, but we are sure going to try!
