Congratulations to the Athmar Park Branch Library who is the recipient of a grant from the Urban Arts Fund and will participating with an anti-graffiti-vandalism project this summer! This purpose of this project is to raise awareness about graffiti and will encourage kids and adults alike to take pride in their community.
The theme of their project, a mural, will be “Knowledge is Power.” The mural will say “Athmar Park Library” and will feature the work of many local artists! These local artists will consist of neighborhood youth in grades 5 through 12. Their work will be documented using photos, videos, and podcasts which will be posted on the eVolver website.
The mural, which will be hung on the south-facing wall of the Athmar Park Library as a permanent art installation, will be unveiled on August 19!
