Wow! There are soooo many things you can do with a cell phone, especially if you have internet access and text messaging. Shelly does a fantastic job explaining the fun things you can do with your phone, and she actually has the audience break out their phones to join in. One participant from the Clark County Library District, in Las Vegas Nevada showed the group his new catalog interface which allows patrons to surf the library’s catalog remotely from their phone.
Thanks to BCR’s Free Friday Forums you can pop in for a live session, or watch at your leisure.

So glad you enjoyed it! It’s fun stuff and sooo handy! The other day I got a text from a friend asking if I was near a computer. She was driving around lost in New Jersey looking for a Crate and Barrel. I wasn’t near a computer, but I was able to text an inquiry to Google, and got the address and directions for her within seconds. Handy. You’ll never be lost again. Well… that might be an overstatement.
Some services I use from my phone:
Flickr
I snap photos with my cameraphone and send them directly to my flickr account.
Blogging
Send a short text message to twitter.
Paypal
Send or request money to or from various accounts with a text message.
Directory
1-800-GOOG-411. 411 by Google. Handy for looking up numbers on the fly.
Jott
A great, free voice transcription service available at jott.com. Send transcribed emails from your phone.
Qipit
My cameraphone isn’t high-rez enough to actually take advantage of this service, but I wish it was. Take a picture of a document, send it to Qipit, and it scans it into a pdf document.
